Melons (except watermelons) benefit from a day's storage at room temperature to soften (not ripen) the flesh. Once cut , wrap tightly in plastic.

Health Information: Melons are 90% water, so they are low in calories. Cantaloupes have the most nutritional value of melons, and are an excellent source of beta carotene and vitamin C as well as potassium, folate, magnesium fibre and B6. Honeydew is high in Vitamin C and a source of potassium, thiamin and vitamin C. Watermelon is a source of vitamin C, potassium, thiamin and vitamin B6.
