In an effort to gain a competitive advantage at the Olympic Games, Greece made every attempt to keep the figs all to themselves. Today, figs are known as one of the highest plant sources of calcium and fiber. They are also rich in copper, manganese, magnesium, potassium, calcium, vitamin K and antioxidants.
