Wine gums are an English confection, through-and-through. They were originally created by a London confectioner working out of a family kitchen in 1880. Within a few years, wine gums were being distributed throughout the country. They are still popular today!
While the reason why they're called "wine gums" is a bit of a mystery, there are a few theories. One theory being that the texture of these gums make them much more lingering and nuanced than other confections, allowing you to savour them like a fine wine.
Despite the name, these candies do not contain any alcohol and are made with real fruit juice. Efruti Wine Gums have no artificial colours. Wine Gums are considered less sweet than traditional gummy candies and are paired perfectly with salty snacks like nuts or chips!
