Camino Camino
Ottawa, ON
Camino is a Canadian brand of Fairtrade and Organic certified food products, owned by an Ottawa-based worker co-operative (La Siembra Co-operative). La Siembra is committed to fostering long-term direct relationships with its 18 producer partners, supporting more than 35,000 family farmers in 10 countries across Central and South America and Southeast Asia.

Through the international fair trade system, the family farmers that work with La Siembra receive a better price for their crops, apply sustainable farming practices, and benefit from access to fair trade premiums that are reinvested in their communities.

La Siembra Co-op was established in an Ottawa church basement in 1999 by three young entrepreneurs, who sought to provide Canadian consumers with an alternative to conventionally traded products. The Camino brand has since grown to include over 60 Fairtrade & Organic certified products.

Every purchase of a Camino food product contributes to building vibrant sustainable communities here in Canada and abroad where our producer partners work and live.
