Released in 2009, Oxley
is a premium gin produced at the Thames Distillery
and is owned by Bacardi. Following a 15-hour maceration with the base spirit, the 14 botanical ingredients - juniper, grapefruit, lemon, oranges, meadowsweet, vanilla, aniseed, orris root, licorice root, cocoa, grains of paradise, cassia bark, nutmeg and coriander - undergo a unique "cold vacuum" distillation. The botanicals are placed in a vacuum-still at such a low air pressure that they distill at sub-freezing temperature. This protects the botanicals from being harmed from the hotter temperatures if they underwent a normal distillation process. After distillation, the gin is then bottled at 47%.
