Stash Tea Company

The Stash Tea Company was founded in Tigard, Oregon in 1972. The name is derived from early tea folklore when tea was a highly valued commodity. During this time, the captain of a ship was often given the finest tea for his own personal use and this was called his "stash".
Originally the company operated out of an old Victorian style house in Portland, Oregon where they supplied loose leaf tea to natural food stores. In 1975 they began producing bagged teas and started to develop their product line to include traditional and specialty teas as well. Today the Stash tea company is one of the largest tea companies in North America and they have helped to re- establish tea as a fine beverage of choice in restaurants and cafes.
For an avid tea totler or anyone who just enjoys a nice hot cuppa now and then, the Stash tea web site "A World of Tea" is an informative, award winning site filled with everything you could ever wonder about tea. It has received rave reviews in the PC world, including Yahoo! Internet/Life's best site in the tea category and it was rated one of the best Internet sites of 1995 by PC Computing Magazine.
