It all started in France in 1875, with the opening of a gourmet shop which would soon become an epicurean’s favourite. Rougié would reach international acclaim in the 1950’s under the leadership of Jean Rougié, Léonce’s son.
Today, Rougié can be found in 120 countries around the world, available to Chefs and gourmets wherever they go.
In North America, Rougié farms are located in the Montérégie region of Québec, near Montréal. Their artisanal family farms are monitored by their welfare specialist. Processing is performed in Marieville under the supervision of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
