Old Country Pasta
Port Coquitlam, BC
Old Country Edibles Ltd. is a family run, local business that is committed to manufacturing high quality fresh pastas and sauces. In making their fresh pastas, Old Country Edibles avoids mass production techniques that compromise quality. They employ a more time intensive, old fashioned method of extrusion. There are two extruder machines to produce all of their flat pastas and one for making stuffed pasta. Each package is weighed by hand and put through a packing machine. The manufacturing process is slow, but the end result is a quality product.

The company was established in 1990 and was taken over by the Plezia family in 1994. Since that time, Old Country Edibles has changed locations twice, both times to expand production. In 1995, Old Country moved into a space at Skeena and East Hastings where they opened a retail outlet for the public. Old Country Edibles remained at this location for 5 years where they were an active part of the neighborhood and they continued to maintain their reputation for both quality and service. Eventually, however, the wholesale business required further expansion and so in 2000, Old Country Edibles moved to its current location in Port Coquitlam.

This small family business has continued to make headway in the retail market and their product line is always evolving. They service hotels, restaurants and retail stores throughout the Vancouver Mainland.
