Dovex Fruit Company is in the Wenatchee Valley the heart of Washington State's premier apple and pear growing region. Dovex is the North American component of a global, family-owned business. The DeNadai family established Dovex and has developed fruit operations worldwide for over three generations. In 1982, the company was founded in response to European and Middle Eastern demand for apples year-round. Dovex supplied produce to these markets when South American produce was "out-of-season." Dovex has grown from a modest 250,000 cartons (in 1982) to over 4,500,000 cartons of apples, pears, cherries, and stone fruits in the year 2002.
Dovex believes in environmental stewardship. Our company actively pursues new technologies that can be incorporated into environmentally friendly horticultural practices. Pest management and water conservation are large parts of this emphasis.
Dovex has one of the largest and most complete organic programs in the industry - committed to sustainable agricultural practices. Organic products are packed using organically dedicated equipment to ensure integrity. Dovex is QAI and WSDA organic certified and one of the few Washington shippers that meet European organic standards, including IFOAM certification. Dovex will market over 1.5 million cartons of organic certified apples, pears, cherries and stone fruit this season. Dovex farms over 3,900 acres in Washington State, thirty percent of this acreage is certified organic, with several hundred more acres being transitioned to organic status. Dovex is one of the largest growers in Washington state and was recently recognized as #8 among the "TOP 100 GROWERS" in America by Western Fruit Growers magazine.
