Back in 1984 they were just two city kids from Manhattan, fresh out of college and captivated by the complex beauty of fertile Carmel Valley, California. Organic was the only choice for them: they didn't want to work with potentially toxic chemicals, they didn't want to eat fruits and vegetables grown with them, and they were betting that other people would feel the same. They set their sights on bringing the organic choice to as many people as possible. They started small. But soon the rest of the world began discovering their fabulous baby lettuce blends and the convenience of pre-washed salad in a bag, demand went through the roof.
Today, Earthbound Farm's more than 100 varieties of certified organic salads, fruits and vegetables are grown on more than 24,000 acres, and are available in 74% of America's supermarkets, making Earthbound Farm the most recognized organic produce brand in North America.
