"I first discovered popped lotus seeds when I was a little girl in my mother’s kitchen in India. She used to roast the seeds and season them with a delicious blend of spices. It was a family recipe passed down for generations and quickly became my favourite snack.
When I moved to Canada, I noticed that my favourite food was nowhere to be found. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit so I instantly envisioned a place in the market for it. The idea stayed at the back of my mind for years, like a seed waiting to sprout.
With the growing need for healthy, wholesome and convenient snacks on the rise, I felt compelled that now was the right time to share my favourite childhood snack with the world…and that’s how Sacred Foods was born." - Mika
