The beginnings of Probar had to do with the fact that a product didn’t exist, so someone needed to make it.
In Snowbird, Utah in the late 1990s, on-the-go energy products still lived in the world of "engineered ultra-power-foods", with science fiction-esque sounding ingredients.
The Probar founders were up there, working as little and playing as often as they could. Besides being mountain junkies, they knew a thing or two about real, whole food. They knew the power of raw ingredients and started to experiment with healthy, vegan snack creations.
Soon, their friends and then the town of Snowbird were Probar people. A hunger-destroying bar that’s made from pure nutritional goodness, with no chemical additives - it’s no surprise the locals were among Probar’s first hardcore fans. The buzz was contagious. After hitting the mountain hard, people were recharging with Probar. We had a local test kitchen, and were off and running.
