L-Glutathione

Glutathione is an antioxidant that is naturally produced in plants and fungi, some bacteria and archaea, and animals including humans. It is present in almost every cell in the body, and plays roles in detoxification, balancing inflammation, mitochondrial support, and keeping our whole body looking and feeling ship-shape.

One of its most important roles has to do with detoxification. As a source of sulphur, there are many liver functions in which it plays a part. It's crucial for detoxification of drugs and xenobiotics. It can help transport mercury out of cells and the brain.

As an antioxidant, it helps to reduce the likelihood of damage from free radicals, peroxides, lipid peroxides and heavy metals. It's also shown to decrease signs of premature aging like sun spots, decreased skin elasticity and wrinkles.

Other roles include helping to make some of the molecules that help with inflammatory balance like leukotriene and prostaglandins. In plants, it is involved with stress management.

Low glutathione levels are seen often when one is depleted - like in neurodegenerative disorders, trauma, burns, chronic exposures to chemical toxins and alcohol, and athletic overtraining. These are all excellent times to consider L-Glutathione supplementation.

Directions:
ADULTS ONLY: Take 1 capsule per day with a glass of water.
