Rangeland Bison and Elk was started in 2000, by Swiss immigrant farmer / rancher Armin Mueller. Arriving in Canada at the ripe age of 21 Armin had a deep love and romance for the the Canadian west. Coming from a dairy background Armin ventured into what he at that time knew best and so built up a successful dairy herd west of Lacombe Alberta; however something was missing and over time he realized he had a deeper desire to work even closer with nature.

We are committed to supply customers in the high-end food service and retail markets worldwide looking for a healthy, tasty and exclusive choice in red meat with the best quality bison and elk meat. We are committed to supporting the local Canadian bison and elk producers and their families by buying local bison and elk and be a fair partner in all marketing aspects. We are committed to support the local Canadian domestic processing industry.

Canadian Rangeland Bison & Elk Inc has been rebranded as The Craft Butcher in 2022.
