Also called Marion berries, Blackberries are extremely perishable and should be handled with care. Good-quality berries will be fairly firm and clean with good color. Keep blackberries in the fridge and do not wash them until you are ready to eat them.

Remove any crushed or moldy berries and store berries unwashed in a single layer, loosely covered with paper towel and plastic wrap. Lasts up to 3 days.
Preparation Tip: Wash gently and quickly, and never soak in water.
Bake whole berries into pies and cobblers, or add them to cakes and muffins.
Simmer with savory spices to use as a sauce on pork or red meat. Infuse light spirits or muddle with mint and lime for a refreshing beverage.
Great for jams and canning.
