Bloomsdale spinach is a fast and easy growing cool weather green. Can be planted in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked, and again in early to mid-August for a fall crop. Will bolt/flower when the days get longer than 13 hours of light, so we really recommend an August planting to avoid bolting. Sow 12 mm (1/2 in) deep, in rows 30 cm (1 ft) apart. Thin plants 7.5 cm (3 in) and then to 15 cm (6 in) apart in the rows. The crinkled leaves are excellent fresh in salads or steamed. Freezes well.
