Siip Bone Broth
Legend has it that the first “restaurant” was opened in Paris around 1765 by Monsieur Boulanger. He was a soup vendor that served “bouillions restaurants”- restorative broths to tired, hungry tourists on the corner of Rue du Louvre and Rue Bailleul. He had an innovative spirit and a supportive wife who helped him run the restaurant. His menu grew over time and his business flourished.
It’s almost as though history repeats itself when we tell the story of Siip.
My wife and I owned a busy downtown Toronto soup restaurant that catered to the office lunchtime crowd and many local tourists. In addition to servicing long line-ups that provided us the time to engage with our regular customers, we also catered to many offices within the downtown core. We formed great relationships and connected with a variety of people. Within this connection an idea was born.
Our customers were looking for something nutritious, something else to drink other than their usual afternoon coffee and tea. Our customers were asking us for a sipping bone broth, a drink that they can take to go and drink at their desk while they were busy plugging away at their keyboards. This got us thinking about how to get bone broth into the offices?
Our solution was Siip- a convenient to-go format that can be enjoyed at work or at home, anytime of the day in minutes. Our recipe focuses on taste and better ingredients because it’s as important to us as it is to you.
