Vancouver Croissant
Burnaby, BC
In 1983, Vancouver needed croissants, so Vancouver Croissanterie Limited was established. Later, the name was simplified to Vancouver Croissant Ltd and registered a trade mark and logo under Gourmet Croissant.
The goal from the very beginning was to make quality croissants with the best natural ingredients, following the old fashioned way i.e. handmade. Years passed by and the market asked for more varieties of croissants, like chocolate-filled croissants and ham & cheese to name a few. We did that and still by hand and by using the best available ingredients: unbleached wheat flour, Belgium chocolate; no artificial color, preservatives or flavors. We also make a variety of croissants with certified organic ingredients*. Our staff have been trained in the traditional method of making croissants by hand. We all take pride in our work and promise to deliver to you a quality product at a reasonable price. In spite of the fact that we are wholesalers, we keep in the mind the needs of small customers, so our packing varies from fifteen dozen boxes to five-dozen boxes. In addition, we pack our certified organic croissant in boxes of twelve for retail distribution only.
We freeze our croissants so they remain fresh when we deliver them to you. The best way to prepare our croissants is to thaw them, lightly cover, let them rise overnight to about three times their normal size. This will be approximately 7 - 9 hours, depending on the temperature of the room.
For baking, you may glaze the croissants with an egg wash (egg and milk). You may choose to decorate them with chocolate, cheese, herbs, etc. Bake them in a pre-heated oven at 325F for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
For re-heating the croissants, use the oven or toaster oven, but never use the microwave oven.
