" Born and raised on Vancouver Island B.C. my first job was at a small restaurant in the town where I grew up. That was the start of it all and where I developed my love for food. As the restaurant grew into a thriving hot spot I took every advantage to learn as much as I could. I continued to work in restaurants for the next 10 years. I learnt new skills, met great people and put myself through University to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.
I have always had a passion for cooking as well as a passion for animals. Most often this meant working at an animal clinic by day and restaurant by night.
My work as a Veterinary Technician led me to South America to volunteer spaying and neutering animals. Upon my return I realized that I could combine my love for animals and cooking. I could make delicious treats that bring smiles to faces and use partial proceeds from each box to support stray animals.
In my travels I discovered how much help is needed to provide better veterinary care and supplies for stray, sick and injured animals. With proceeds raised, RockCoast will purchase medical supplies and volunteer time. The hope is that this support will increase quality of life for animals and enable a higher level of veterinary care.
RockCoast confections provide high quality sweets and allow people to treat themselves or others to something truly special. I use only natural ingredients that are gluten free and free of artificial flavourings and colours. I am working hard to purchase my ingredients as locally as possible to support other businesses in the community.
RockCoast is a labour of love and passion for me. I'm so excited for you to try my mouth watering toffee bark but watch out - its addictive!"
