Cherries are the ideal warm weather snack. Sweet cherries are generally round or heart-shaped and packed with flavour and nutrients. If you’re feeling a bit creative, remove the pits and throw them in a blender with plain greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and ice for a refreshing smoothie.
Note: Cherries are slightly soft and more perishable than other fruits, so buy only what you can eat in a two-to-three day period or you can freeze them. To do this, rinse and drain cherries before placing them in a single layer on a baking sheet, then freeze until firm. Once frozen, wrap them in portioned-out packages.
