Four Sigmatic is a Finnish-American food and beverages company that specializes in mushroom based drinks. It all started back in Finland, where saunas outnumber cars and people love coffee as much as they love nature. So much so that their grandparents brewed a coffee replacement out of mushrooms during WWII.
Science Time: When you plot out nutrition, each “sigma” equals how far a food is from the average. Four Sigmatic foods are much, much, much, much better. You might even say they’re the best.
Their Finnish grandparents brewed mushrooms when they couldn’t get coffee. Turns out those mushrooms—Chaga—are a powerful, immune-supporting Four Sigmatic food. That gave them an idea.
They searched for more exhaustively-studied, practically-magic Four Sigmatic ingredients to add to their daily go-tos. Guess what? Organic coffee plus Chaga is chaga-bly delicious and remarkably good at balancing caffeine. Goodbye, jitters and sugar highs! (And hello, somewhat regrettable sense of humor.)
The founder is a Funguy (sorry), Tero. He grew up in Finland on a family farm that’s been around for 13 generations. There he learned to appreciate the best off-the-beaten-track ingredients and the absolute worst puns. Tero started Four Sigmatic to share these feel-good Finnish traditions with the world.
As you might have guessed, they don’t take themselves too seriously. But their products are no joke. They source the world’s very best ingredients. They also work with 3rd party testers to geek out about formulas and purity levels, so you don’t have to think about the science. Unless you want to.
They have a sauna in their office. They also have a bus named Mauri (the Mushroom Mobile) and Maisa, the electric Mushroom Moped (Mauri’s sister). They travel around the U.S. serving up elevated essentials on wheels. This stuff just makes sense to them — and it makes people feel really good.
