Quinoa Flour is a must for any kitchen pantry! It's a fantastic ingredient for making all manner of gluten-free goodies, from pancakes to muffins to donuts to dinner rolls. Quinoa Flour can be used to enhance the texture, flavour, and nutritional content of so many recipes.

Quinoa flour is made up of finely grounded quinoa. Quinoa is also known as vegetable caviar is an ancient pseudo-cereal that originated in South America 5,000 years ago, mainly in Bolivia, Peru, and Chile. Our Quinoa Flour is from Bolivia.

The inhabitants of this region, the Quechua (today known as Inca) and the Aymara (pre-Inca) used this grain as an everyday staple. The region where Quinoa is from is known as the Southern Altiplano (high plateau) and it is characterized for its extreme dry conditions and thus poor nutrient soils. - Quinoa flour is often used in gluten-free cooking as it does not contain any wheat. It can replace any recipe with flour, from pizza crust to baked goods to bread loaves.
- This flour is often mixed in different ratios with another type of gluten-free flour such as rice flour, coconut flour, or cornmeal. Some people may also prefer mixing it to remove the subtle bitter taste that quinoa has.
- It is recommended to add an extra egg or two extra egg whites to the recipe, in order to improve texture and binding.
- Add < tsp of xanthan gum per cup of quinoa flour.
