Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup icing sugar
- 1/2 vanilla bean pod, split and seeds removed
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 egg
- 1 and 1/2 all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Earl-Grey tea leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons decorating sugar (for rolling)

Directions:
1. Combine the granulated sugar, icing sugar, and vanilla bean seeds in a small bowl. Use your hands to distribute the seeds into the sugar.
2. Using a mixer, combine the vanilla and sugar mixture with butter. Add egg and vanilla, then continue to mix until well blended.
3. Add in flour, tea leaves, baking powder and salt. Combine until you have a soft dough.
4. Roll the dough into a log. Then roll log in rolling sugar. Wrap the sugared log in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2-24 hours.
5. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet. Slice chilled dough into ΒΌ inch thick discs. Bake 6-8 minutes, or until sides begin to brown.
6. Cool for at least 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
