Apple Pie Smoothie

This apple pie smoothie recipe is reminiscent of the real thing—without all the added sugar! Try it for your next on the go breakfast.

  • 3 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 sweet apples, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. agave nectar, split
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 cup yogurt

  1. Start by gelling the chia seeds. Combine chia seeds and water in a container. Stir well and allow the mixture to rest for 10 minutes, or until it gels. You can store the extras in the fridge for up to two weeks.

  2. Heat butter or coconut oil on the stove over medium heat. Add apples, one tbsp. of agave, spices, and salt.

  3. Cook until apples are just softened. Allow to cool to room temperature.

  4. Once the apple mixture is cool, add one tablespoon of the gelled chia seeds and the remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
