1)Thoroughly wash and drain lentils. 2)Combine water, lentils, salt, turmeric and cayenne in a saucepan and bring to boil. 3)Simmer until lentils are soft (40 min). 4)In a pan heat oil, add ginger, garlic and onion. Stir until golden (4 min). 5)Add pepper cumin and cardamon, continue cooking for 2 min. 6)Combine oil and spices into lentils and mix well. 7)Add lemon juice and cilantro to taste immediately before serving. |
